Cyclone Harold potential impacted population maps - Vanuatu, Tonga and Fiji

Population exposure analysis conducted to assess potential impact caused by tropical cyclone HAROLD-20. Vanuatu: The analysis is based on tropical cyclone path of wind speeds zones from Joint Research Centre (Issued on 7 April 2020 00:00 UTC) and spatially modeled population data from 2016 Population and Household Census conducted by Vanuatu National Statistics office (VNSO). Year Population Growth Rate of 2.3% has been applied to update population up to 2020. Population grid utilized to conduct the analysis is available on Pacific Data Hub https://pacificdata.org/data/dataset/vut_population_grid_2020

Tonga: The analysis is based on tropical cyclone path of wind speeds zones from Joint Research Centre (Issued on 8 April 2020 00:00 UTC) and spatially modeled population data from 2016 Population and Household Census conducted by Tonga Statistics Department (TSD). Year Population Growth Rate of - 0.24% has been applied to update population up to 2020. Population grid utilized to conduct the analysis is available on Pacific Data Hub https://pacificdata.org/data/dataset/ton_population_grid_2020

Fiji: The analysis is based on tropical cyclone path of wind speeds zones from Joint Research Centre (Issued on 8 April 2020 00:00 UTC) and spatially modeled population data from 2017 Population and Household Census conducted by Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FIBOS).
