DO1: Strengthening Sustainable Management of Natural Resources
New species-specific Minimum Diameter Limit Tables incorporated in Harvesting Code and endorsed by Ministry of Forestry, directly contributing to more sustainable management of forestry resources, reducing environmental impacts due to logging, and maintaining species diversity (particularly of slow-growing species)

What was SPC’S contribution to the result
Native Land Forest regulation under the Native Land Trust Act was not fully implemented and a 35cm minimum diameter limit across the board was adopted. LRD facilitated research on three different logging intensities (light, medium and heavy) testing different diameter limits and established minimum diameter limit for medium logging intensities.
