The research began in 2016 when SARV was perceived as a growing problem in PNG and had attracted domestic and international calls for effective government response. The project was supported by the Australian Government’s Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) program in Papua New Guinea through the PNGAusPartnership, since the research began in 2016.
