The Delimitation of Marine Waters Act 1978 is the Solomon Islands’ primary maritime zones legislation. It defines baselines of Solomon Islands and its internal waters, archipelagic waters, territorial sea and exclusive economic zone. It also provides that all areas of the seabed and subsoil of the exclusive economic zone are deemed to form part of the continental shelf of the Solomon Islands for the purposes of the Continental Shelf Act 1970.
