Date created: 15 February 2022

Palau transport data. Data collected by Mr Herbet Wade, consultant for the SPREP PIGGAREP Transport Energy for Islands Study Project.  Data collected in 2012, purpose of the project is to collect transport data of all sectors & determine how renewable sources & ultimately technology can be used to offset fuel imports.  The objective of the project is to obtain such data as is available from all Pacific Island Countries related to land, sea and air transport within those countries. This data includes fuel use, details of ships, vehicles and aircraft in service in the countries and how the fuel used for transport relates to total fuel used in the country. The data was aimed to be used to develop activities for the replacement of fossil fuels for transport with renewable energy sources and to help understand transport energy use in order to prepare actions to improve energy efficiency in transport processes. This record holds several attachments - national car registry, admiralty & maritime acts, Ngarchelong boats 2012, NECO marine list of boats 2011 & 2012, Koror boats and car registrations report 2007 - 2012.
